Of Shadow and Moonlight: By Luna Laurier

Trope; Damsel in destress meets hot immortal guy

Author: Indie

Available: KU, Amazon, Print

Book: Series

Rating: πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸ

Spice:🌢🌢 for book one

Hey bookish peeps it's been so long since I did a review like this. I hope everyone is well and please let me know if you like this review or not. The review will be about "of shadow and moonlight" by Luna Laurier. This is the first book in a series of two so far. I am not exactly sure how many books Luna has plan for this series but if you like my review please check out these books.

The book starts out by introducing us to Cassie who is an art student at the local college. We find out Cass has some health issues, that are life or death situation. A few chaps in we meet Damion who Cass meets by accident but later thinks is a student at her College. Come to find out Damion is the original Vampire and Cass has a magical DNA line she knows nothing about. As the book moves on we find out more about these two characters and their past together.

This book is a romantic fantasy that involves so many different aspects of the fantasy world such as magic that ancient and vampires and lost bloodlines. We learn where Cass comes from and what might be causing problems for her health. We find out so much about Damion and why he was created. The mythology woven into this book is bloody fantastic. If you love magic, vampires and mythology I would say go for this book.

Now as for the reasons I loved it so much, the story was a comfort to me, it felt easy to read but gave so much definition. I love Cass and Damion story, so much so that I honestly can't wait for more. I love their relationship and how much they care for each other. I love how Luna define her world in the 2nd edition of book one and how she added so much more and it really made you feel apart of the world. It's absolutely one of my new comfort series. I want more and will probably end up reading book two soon. I am beyond excited to see where Luna takes these characters and the plot. It was a five star for me and I recommend it to everyone who loves Vampires.

Thank you all for sticking around to the end. As always below are links to my Social media and the authors. I hope you guys love this review and please come back for more

Unexpected Eva by Vh Nicolson

Troupe: Bestfriends, Age Gap

Author: Indie

Available: KU, Print

Book;  Series

Rating is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book is Unexpected Eva which I found through Kindle Unlimited and recommendations on Tiktok. I am so beyond words happy that I have found Vh work and am going to read every book by her. She has become my new favorite romance author that I will end up reading every single book she now writes and yes I am officially bias. This review is going to be on Unexpected Eva which is the third book in Triple trouble series about Eva and her sisters. This book contain age gap romance and smut romance along with physical abuse triggers. If these things do not interest you please do not pick up the book. For everyone else though let's get to review.

Knox black is the main male character, he is 14yrs older than Eva. But that's not their only problem, he also is Eva father best friend and also has a grown son that he became father to at the age of 17. Meanwhile Eva is a newly single woman who just escape an abusive husband and now is raising two children on her own. She is very much a people pleaser to her entire family as well.

This is my absolute favorite Vh book, no question. Knox carries my heart with how beautiful he loves and supports his family. I love that he was torn up about falling for Eva and that he didn't want to admit to it. But when they finally get together as a couple, they meet all expectations He literally shows up for her sons as well in little ways. This man bring love in but also teaches not only Eva and his son that the past doesn't have to define how you are. I can't say enough about how Knox is my favorite of all of the men Vh writes.

I also love the way that Vh writes Eva and how she strong she makes her as an individual. She gives Eva her own identity as the relationship between Eva and Knox grow. Eva becomes more independent and more confident. She learns to go after what she wants and She wants Knox more then anything else to point that she defies her father.

This relationship very much becomes a surprise to both of them but also helps them grow together. Knox becomes Eva support, he shows her that he can show up for and can love her the way she needs. He also shows her that Eva doesn't always need to be strong and can relay on People. Eva show Knox how strong she truly is and that can she run a business just like him. She shows him how to love his son but also how to love himself. They both give back to each other in such health ways that are beautifully well written

This book is an age gap romance with trauma, heartache and passion. But it also expresses how many people can see age gap marriage and how many people stereo type relationships that they dont know or understand. It shows how you can heal from bad relationships of all kinds as Well.

Vh is great at writing love but also adding real life trauma to her characters world building. She literally makes me want to came into these books and devour each one. I can't wait for more of her work. As I've said before because of her beautiful poetic writing style, rich with details of love and feeling I will always becoming back for me. I am now a Vh Nicolson life longer reader and I am looking forward to all of her new books.

As Always all links for author information is listed below along with my social media links.I also want to add that VH provides sign copies for purchase through her links below. I am back to reviewing more and look forwarding to bringing you new books especially by Indie authors. Thank you for reading all of blogs.

Not If I date you first By Krysti Meyer

Troupe: Enemies to lovers

Author:Indie

Available: KU, Print

Book: Currently Stand Alone

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It's been a while since Ive been here but I am so happy to finally be back. My first review back is very special to me. It's "Not if I date you first" by krysti Meyers  which is an Indie publish book. I am so proud of Krysti and her first novel that I am really excited to share it with you all now.

This beautiful book is about an Ada who thru her grandma fell in love with the glitz and glam of Hollywood and Celebrities. So she decides to venture into being a paparazzi professionally. Ada is so excited to start this job but her view is also one sided. She doesn't know what is she about to experience on this journey of a new life.

Liam is the big Hollywood celebrity. He only wants to act though, he doesn't want the fame. He hates being follow around and being monitor by the paps. One day he out with his celebrity "girlfriend" at the time, trying to avoid being a public event. But the girlfriend gets upset with him and they get into a fight. Ada enters into the story at this moment and meets Liam in the most awkward way.

As the story continues, Ada and Liam meet in the most awkward ways through this slow burn; until they decide this could help both of their careers and team up. When they finally team up; they find out that each other job is a lot harder than they thought. But during all of this they start to fall for each other and gain feelings as the time passes.

I rate this book a five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. This book gives you all of the giddy heart warming feelings that a hall mark movie carries. You feel the funny moments, the romantic moments and the down to earth moments with these characters. I can't gush enough about how you will feel, giddy and light hearted. How you will be shipping these characters by the 10th chapter. I really want more of this world and these characters. I honestly am looking forward to krysti next book. She did such a great job on this first one

As always all of the import links for the book and Author are below. Please check out this book and check out Krysti links. She is an amazing book reviewer as well as author. Thank you for coming back and checking out my blogs and please check out my social media links..

Interview with Author Samantha Hastings

Hello Book Pals , Welcome to my latest book blog. I had so much fun with Miranda Asebedo interview the last time, that I really want to do more Q & A interviews with other Authors . I felt so lucky when Samantha Hasting agreed to do a Q &A with me. So I feel so happy and bless to be able to share this blog with you all. I also want to thank Samantha for doing this interview with me.  So before  you get to read the interview, I just really want to share information on how to find Samantha Books for you to read.

Lets begin with a few facts like Samantha Hastings is a Victorian Author published by SwoonReads. She currently has two books that are victorian base. The first one is "The Last Word" which is now available. The Second is The Invention of Sophie Carter which is coming out in July 2020. Below I will list short summaries for each book.

"The Last Word":

Where one story ends, another begins.
1861. Miss Lucinda Leavitt is shocked when she learns the author of her favorite serialized novel has died before completing the story. Determined to learn how it ends, Lucinda reluctantly enlists the help of her father’s young business partner, Mr. David Randall, to track down the reclusive author’s former whereabouts.
The Second book is coming out in July 2020.

"The Invention of Sophie Carter"

1851. Bounced from one begrudging relative to another their whole lives, orphaned identical twins Sophie and Mariah Carter have always relied on each other for love and support, even though the sisters couldn't be more different.

So now that I have shared some facts and book information about  Samantha work with you, I think it time to get to her great Q & A interview which I hope you all Enjoy.  Ps I also will put links for Samantha work down below for ordering.

Samantha Hastings Interview:

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’ve always considered myself a writer. I wrote my first YA book when I was 12 years old and it was entitled “Beehive Basketball”. Writing has always been part of my life.
What comes first, the plot or characters?
With each book it is different. For The Invention of Sophie Carter, the characters came first. I knew that they would be twin sisters and the plot was woven around them. Because I placed them during the Pre-Raphaelite painting movement, I knew that they had to be redheads! Sophie’s personality was the easiest to write, but Mariah secretly stole my heart.
What was your favorite part, and your least favorite part, of the publishing journey?
My favorite part of the writing journey is holding a completed book in my hands. The tactile-ness of holding a piece of you, there’s nothing quite like it. My least part my least favorite part is always revision. But revision and editing is where your book goes from scrawling’s on a page to something readable.
What do you hope your readers take away from your books?
Jane Austen wrote, “let other pens dwell on guilt and misery” and I think what she meant is that her books are to bring joy to her readers and I hope the same thing. I hope that when you read my books that you will leave them happier and more hopeful.
If you had to describe Sophie and Mariah in three words, what would those three words be?
Sophie: brash, decisive, and imaginative
Maria: artistic, thoughtful, and tender-hearted
What is the most surprising thing you discovered while writing your book?
That the Great Exhibition of 1851 had the first public toilets. Such an important detail had to be included in the book!
What was the highlight of writing this book?
The highlight for me is the relationship between the two sisters. I have two older sisters and they mean the world to me and I love seeing that support and loyalty come out on the page.

I wanted to thank you all for reading this interview with the amazing Samantha Hastings. I love her answers to these amazing questions. I hope you all also check out all of her work because she is so talented. Like I said earlier I will have links below for Samantha Books and all of social media information. Hope you will come back soon for the next blog interview or review. Thanks for your time.

A Murderous Relation Review

Hello fellow lovers of Veronica speedwell and welcome to my newest blog about Deanna Raybourn "A Murderous Relation". This is the fifth book in the series and it arrived in the world on March 10th, 2020. Of Course, this is the latest best in the Veronica Series and I honestly am ready for the next book. So I hope you enjoy this review and check out the series. I honestly think everyone can enjoy this series right now. So let's get to another review

This book has introduced us to another great Stoker and Veronica Mystery. While Lady Wellie introduces us to a mystery involving Veronica's family yet again. Those people always seem to meet Trouble, Hum. We also are giving more background information on other characters, we have met. Veronica and Stoker, of course, go on another great chase thru-out England. We once again meet the Irish Rebellion of that time and learn of the Victorian ways in all things. Now on to my thoughts regarding everything in this book.

Let's start with how much I admired Veronica, for trying to stand up for herself in this series. She finally tells tries to tears herself away from the constant narcissistic family she knows. Although not for long because after a while other people change her mind. I understand this so well. It took me a long time to turn away from toxic family and to understand they only want to know me when it was good for them. I see Veronica dealing with this a lot. It's not easy to fix this type of situation. So I was proud of Veronica when she does it. I also love how Veronica still can love, because she seems to fall more in love with Stoker thru out the book. Veronica is one of my ultimate favorite characters simply because she is so independent, so strong and always willing to help others who don't even deserve it sometimes.

Where oh where do I begin with Stoker. Stoker amazes me by how he can be offended by the world, yet be such an English gentleman of his period. He does have a  great heart towards ladies even more so. He is what I wish most men would strive to be in this world. He comes off a cold heart towards people until he realizes their true intent. Then he goes above and beyond to be the most amazing hero. I do believe he likes to save others even if it bites him in the arse from time to time. Stoker is just an amazing person.

Now as for the writing, I can't stress this enough Deanna is a soul-stirring poet. She has given us the most intense and thought-provoking books ever by writing Veronica Speedwell Series. I urge everyone to read these books because not only are they great Victorian Mysteries but they also make you think and they discuss modern problems that also exist in the Victorian Days. I am obsessed with Deanna Writing and will always support anything she writes because she can express thought that everyone in the most simple but thought-provoking way. You have to read her books to understand what I am trying to say in this paragraph because I do not do her work justices.

I thank you all for reading my blogs especially right now. I urge you to go get all five of Veronica Speedwell books and binge them. I will have links to my other Veronica reviews and books down below to pick up. Thank you again for your time. Please follow me and Deanna at all of the social media listed below.

Author Interview with Miranda Asebedo

Hello, my Bookish Peeps,

Its a great day for a new blog and boy do I have one for you. This is my very first Author Interview Blog and I am so excited. First I want to say Thank you to Miranda Asebedo for suggesting we do this interview and thank you to Love, Writing, Life blog for providing these questions to bloggers. This first Interview introduces us as the reader, to one of my all favorite Authors Miranda Asebedo. Miranda is the author, of The Deepest Roots and A Constellation of Roses. A Constellation of Roses is set to Release in November of 2019. I will also be doing a review for "A Constellation of Roses in November so be sure to check back, But now is the time to read my very first amazing Author interview with the Talented Miranda.

So I am going to list each question and give you Miranda answers below. I hope these questions don't come off as boring because to me they sounded different and not typical repeat questions given to Authors. I tried to focus more on Miranda as an Author instead of the books. I sincerely hope you all enjoy this blog. I also hope more people will want more blogs like this, so let me know, please.

Questions:

1)What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk is?

  • 1. I would say my most interesting writing quirk is that I really need something to drink and music playing while I'm writing. I drink a lot of tea in the mornings, especially Earl Grey, but in the afternoon I almost always switch to Diet Pepsi. My caffeine intake is probably way too high! I also always have a playlist for whatever I'm working on, so having headphones is essential to me. Sometimes I spend embarrassing amounts of time just making a playlist for a WIP because I've convinced myself that it's a necessity.

2)How do you deal with the emotional impact of a book (on yourself) as you are writing the story?
  • 2. I am not ashamed to say that I've cried while writing before. And I'm not much of a crier in general. Writing can be really difficult if you have to put yourself in the headspace of a character who's going through a hard time, so I let myself grieve when I need to. After a particularly rough chapter, I might take a Netflix-break and binge watch something really light and humorous to get myself out of the dumps!

3)What is the most surprising thing you discovered while writing your book?

  • 3. The most surprising thing I discovered while writing A Constellation of Roses is how much I love the word "just." When we got to edits, my editor suggested very gently that I search the manuscript for the word "just" and I discovered that I had used it over two hundred times. Yeah. That's how much I like it. I just do! (Get it?!)

4) Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special?

  • 4. I really love Auntie from A Constellation of Roses. She was a lot of fun to write because she's this old woman who really doesn't give a damn about what anyone else thinks, so she gives her unfiltered opinion about everything from cute guys to overcooked spaghetti. I would love to put her in another book! She still makes me laugh.

5) What are you reading now?

  • 5. I just finished an ARC of Amanda's Sellet's debut, By the Book,  which is out from HMH in May 2020. It's about a girl who uses her fictional heroines like Elizabeth Bennett to navigate the new social scene she finds herself in when she gets transferred to a public high school. It's hilarious and poignant, and I know teen Miranda would have loved it!

6) What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?

  • 6. I really fell in love with Katniss from The Hunger Games. She was fierce and unapologetic and followed her gut, and I've always been inspired to write characters like that. I like characters who make mistakes and learn from them, get up when they've been knocked down, and who ultimately would do anything for those they love. Also, Hunger Games cemented my love for YA books.

7) Favorite quote (doesn’t matter the source)?

  • 7. "Shoot for the stars so you at least clear the trees." This is probably my personal motto and my advice for all aspiring authors.

8) Favorite book/story you have read?

  • 8. I don't have a favorite book per se, because that would be like picking a favorite child! Outside of YA, I read women's fiction, romance, and mysteries. Lately, I read Jojo Moyes The Peacock Emporium and really loved it!

 9) What famous author do you wish would be your mentor?

  • 9. I'm lucky in that I've gotten in contact with other more experienced authors who have given me great advice, both craft- and career-wise. But I'd love to pick the brains of the Bronte sisters if they were still alive!

10) Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you?

  • 10. Most people don't know that I used to practice traditional archery, and I was a really good shot! I still have my bow, though I don't use it much anymore.

11) If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

  • 11. Stubborn, curious, and ambitious!

Preorder Prizes in Photo. Preorder the book below

I really hope you enjoy this very first Interview, and below will be all of Miranda Information. I will also provide all of the information to purchase The Deepest Roots and A Constellation of Roses. By the way "A Constellation of Roses" has PREORDER PRIZES right now, so go check that out.  I also have a Review coming up November 2019 after the release of "A Constellation of Roses" for the book. Thank you So much to Miranda for giving me this Idea and being the Very First Author I ever Interview, I feel so blessed.
