A Dangerous Collaboration Review

Hello, book lovers, I welcome everyone to my brand new blog today about "A Dangerous Collaboration" by Deanna Raybourn. First a very huge thank you to Berkley Publication for granting me an E-Arc on Netgalley for this amazing fourth book. This book is the fourth in the Wonderful Veronica Speedwell Series and I seriously suggest you go pick up the first three books right now. A Dangerous Collaboration is set to release on March 12th and I am so excited for it even though I've read the ARC. The Veronica Speedwell series is amazing and I have reread the first two books so far and I really can’t wait to read all four books back to back. So now onto all of the really good information about this amazing new book, which you need to buy or borrow the series from the library.

This book basically stars, Revelstoke Templeton-Vane, Tiberius Templeton Vane and the great Veronica Speedwell. These three set out on a mysterious adventure on set on a series of Islands. Veronica is the first to be lured away by Tiberius with the promise of an elusive butterfly and Stroker sorta of just follows her. After they get to the Island of Tiberius friend Malcolm Romilly, Veronica finds out the real truth of why they are all there. She also finds out things about Tiberius and Stroker that just might change her life too. But in order for you to find out this great mystery, you need to get this book on March 12th. Now I have a lot of wonderful thoughts on this beautiful book that is just dying to be discussed, on to it. Excelsior

The First thing I am dying to discuss is the great Veronica Speedwell. Veronica really seems to have grown in this book. She comes across as more focus on her work and pursuing it than she has been in other books. She becomes wiser about her life and her family connections more than we have seen of her. Deanna really writes Veronica as a human female who has an independent voice in any situation, and I love that. I also love how Veronica is a very clear cut with her thought process, along with how she can justify all of her thoughts about things. She sees the everyday faults that humans basically do, better than most people would see them. Veronica really is a detective with other people actions. But the thing Veronica does as a character to me is that she has a very hard time seeing her own actions as clearly as everyone else. This character comes off as so Human, that it's hard for me to remember she is just one of my favorite characters.

Now on to Revelstoke Templeton Vane aka Stroker. I have always loved Stroker but this fourth book really shows him as the human that only Veronica has seen. I love how Deanna shows us the deep thought process exploration that Stroker has toward his family in this book. He really learns that maybe he not that different from his family like he wants to believe. Stroker also learns more about Tiberius as the person he is now instead of what old memories that Stoker has of him. I just love Stoker growth as a person. I feel like he gains more information that set his own freedom off as a character and especially as a man. This book really shows Stoker soul healing more and more than we’ve seen before with this character.

Finally, we get to the great mischief Viscountess Tiberius Templeton Vane and I can so hear him in my mind with smugness as I write this review of him. He seems to want Veronica attention but comes to Understand it will never be as he wants it. As he continues in the story though, he holds out hope and shares more of himself with Veronica. He really gives himself over to us readers with a deeper history of his past involving Malcolm. Even stoker doesn’t know about this history until they get to this adventure. I always love the moments that Deanna give us with all of the Templeton Vane Men but I am so bloody happy by how much of Tiberius is in this book. Deanna really gives us a deeply thoughtful look at the Templeton-Vane brothers and how memories of their history have distorted their minds.

I rated this book a five out of five stars because it did not lack for anything. Deanna gave us a great mystery that leads to exploring all of her characters so well especially the main characters above. The Veronica Speedwell series has always had this deep sense of exploring family vs Friends. This idea tends to affect Veronica and Stroker and how they develop more like people in the books. I am so excited to say this book was no different and it very much gave us that idea of Family exploration. I want ten more Veronica speedwell mystery books because I can never have enough of Deanna writing. Deanna as an author is one of my personal faves because her writing is so lyrical. She really develops a character in such a poetic thoughtful human way with human feelings. All of those Human feelings really make you feel like these characters are alive and are your friends. I will always want more of Deanna’s writing because it just gets better with time. I sincerely hope you enjoyed this blog, and it makes you pick up the entire Veronica Speedwell series. All the links for all of my Veronica reviews are listed below along with the links for the books, plus Deanna information. Summary : In 1872, New Orleans is a city ruled by the dead. But to seventeen-year-old Celine Rousseau, New Orleans provides her a refuge after she's forced to flee her life as a dressmaker in Paris. Taken in by the sisters of the Ursuline convent along with six other girls, Celine quickly becomes enamored with the vibrant city from the music to the food to the soirées and--especially--to the danger. She soon becomes embroiled in the city's glitzy underworld, known as Le Cour des Lions, after catching the eye of the group's leader, the enigmatic Sèbastien Saint Germain. When the body of one of the girls from the convent is found in the lair of Le Cour des Lions, Celine battles her attraction to him and suspicions about Sèbastien's guilt along with the shame of her own horrible secret.

When more bodies are discovered, each crime more gruesome than the last, Celine and New Orleans become gripped by the terror of a serial killer on the loose--one Celine is sure has set her in his sights . . . and who may even be the young man who has stolen her heart. As the murders continue to go unsolved, Celine takes matters into her own hands and soon uncovers something even more shocking: an age-old feud from the darkest creatures of the underworld reveals a truth about Celine she always suspected simmered just beneath the surface.

Lady Victoria Aston has always been just as comfortable in a pair of breeches stolen from her father as she has in satin ballgowns decked in lace. And though she is perfectly capable of minding her manners in polite society, she doesn’t much see the point. With an older sister happily wed and the future of her family estate secure, she is quite content to while her time away in the fields around her home.
However, Vicky’s comfortable, idyllic life is overturned in the course of one night. Her sister’s husband is a terrible cad and now Vicky must marry, or find herself and her family destitute. Armed only with the wisdom she has gained from her beloved novels by Jane Austen, she enters society’s season in a flutter of silks, dances, and pretty words.
But Miss Austen has little to say about Vicky’s particular circumstances: whether the gorgeous and roguish Mr. Carmichael is indeed a scoundrel, if her former best friend—the much-grown and very handsome Tom Sherborne—is out for her dowry or for her heart, or even how to fend off the attentions of the foppish Mr. Silby, he of the bright-orange waistcoat.
Most unfortunately of all, Vicky’s books are silent on the topic of the mysterious accidents cropping up around her. Accidents that have her wondering if there’s someone trying to prevent a match from being made…or prevent her from surviving until her wedding day.

I cannot find real Purchase links yet for this book So i am giving you Good reads Links; GOODREADS

Now this final Book on the list is more of a Guide on the Victorian Days instead of a fiction Novel. I originally bought Therese's first victorian Guide back when I started to read more Victorian Novels. These books provide real Victorian life information along with funny antidotes. So I thought I would include this. This book, Ungovernable is set to be release April 2019 and is Therese Second Victorian Guide. Here are Therese Social media links to find more information on her books: Therese Website  Twitter

Summary: Feminist historian Therese Oneill is back, to educate you on what to expect when you're expecting . . . a Victorian baby! In Ungovernable, Oneill conducts an unforgettable tour through the backwards, pseudoscientific, downright bizarre parenting fashions of the Victorians, advising us on:

- How to be sure you're not too ugly, sickly, or stupid to breed

- What positions and room decor will help you conceive a son
- How much beer, wine, cyanide and heroin to consume while pregnant
- How to select the best peasant teat for your child
- Which foods won't turn your children into sexual deviants
- And so much more

Endlessly surprising, wickedly funny, and filled with juicy historical tidbits and images, Ungovernable provides much-needed perspective on -- and comic relief from -- the age-old struggle to bring up baby.

Okay if you have stuck around this long with me, beyond thank you. Thank you for taking the time to check out this blog. I originally title this Blog Regency, Victorian and Edwardian books coming out but I could not find new Edwardian books. So if you know of some please list them below. Only a breath apart review

Hello Book Lovers, I have a brand new book for you today, it's Katie McGarry "Only A Breath apart" which was just released on Jan 22nd. I received this book as an ARC from TorTeen on Netgalley, thank you so much TorTeen. As of now, this is a Stand Alone book. I also bought my own copies of this book from Amazon and Audible. So lets get to the great stuff which is the summary and my final thoughts for this book.

This book is about Jesse Lachlin and Scarlett Copeland. Scarlett Comes from a well to do family, while Jesse comes from a poor family who lost everything as the years went by. Neither one of them knows the truth about each other and also neither one of them knows that they have a similar history. They became friends as kids but now as adults, they have to relearned what that friendship stood for. If you wish to know more about Jesse and Scarlett’s secrets, life go buy this book and show love to these two characters. So lets go to my final beautiful thoughts about this book.

I love Scarlett for being so strong and determine. Katie gave us all another amazing female character who is an inspiration to all the young teens who are facing this type of scary life. Scarlett knows that what current home situation is right now, is not what she wants in her life forever. She knows she wants something different and she is fighting to gain a new life each day. She fights for this new life even when its not that safe for her. She is blamed for things that are not her fault. But still, she doesn’t let these lies stop her from seeking a better world.

Jessie Lachlin family has long since lived on his current land. As the years went by the Lachlin family lost land after Jessie Great grandpa lied and scheme to gain all the original land. When Jesse was younger, he and his mom moved away from the land for a while. But when his mother ends up living a problematic life she sends Jessie back to his grandma. So he lives with his grandma until life once again sends the Lachlin family deep problems, but maybe Scarlett actions will set Jessie and the Lachlin land right again.

I rate this book five stars because Katie just gives us great forbidden romance with a lot of slow burn. I love how Katie also provides you with characters that are very real, very deep and make you feel like you are visiting family you haven't seen in a while. She has an amazing voice for speaking out against violence in all forms especially in her books. She really makes you feel the actions of these characters along with the problems they face. Like I have said before in another review, I love the rep for mental health and abuse that Katie gives all of her characters. Katie, in my opinion, writes amazing females and males because they seem so incredibly real and lifelike. I love her work and will automatically buy her books.  I am seriously not sure if I should say this is my favorite Katie book because all of her books have been amazing in my opinion. Katie's books really give me utter giddiness to read them. Like she is one of the few authors, I know who work I am excited to grab as soon as possible. I can't wait for her next book

I can’t wait for any of Katie's next books and thank you to Torteen for sending me the Arc. I also bought the book from Amazon along with the Audio. I really think you all should check out this book especially my fellow YA romance lovers. This book is amazing and everyone should own it. As always I will have all of the author and my information listed down below. Thank you all for reading my latest review. I really hope you enjoyed it and will return soon.

About UNRAVELING THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE:
Discover the magic of the Bradens, and fall in love with Addison Cole's rich and romantic storytelling.

In Unraveling the Truth About Love…
Small-town overachiever Riley Banks has finally scored her big break--working in Manhattan as a fashion design assistant for her childhood crush, Josh Braden. She enters her new job hoping to make a name for herself and--just maybe--explore the romance that slipped through her fingers way back when.

Josh Braden has models at his beck and call, a staff that never says never, and an elegant clothing line for the holiday season. When he hires Riley Banks, he expects her to learn the business from the ground up. But the girl next door turns out to be much more than he remembered.

When Josh and Riley's friendship heats up, every steamy kiss, and every passionate caress stirs a love they cannot deny. But when Riley designs a wedding gown that would cause even the most jaded fashion editors to swoon, Riley's mentor accuses her of stealing the design.

Facing indisputable proof and the mistrust of her lover, Riley is not sure she can take the heat of life in the fast lane of the fashion industry--and Josh is forced to choose between the woman he loves and the career he adores.

Excerpt: "Riley Banks hurried down Thirty-Seventh Street in her red Catherine Malandrino dress and Giuseppe Zanotti leopard-print, calf-hair pumps. It was the week after Thanksgiving, and Manhattan was buzzing with the feverish zeal of the holidays.  Riley slowed her pace to catch her breath. Tomorrow I’ll find the courage to take the subway. Maybe. She tugged her coat tighter across her chest to ward off the chilly air and silently hoped that nobody would figure out that she’d purchased her outfit on Outnet.com, an online designer outlet store. She felt like such a hypocrite, heading to her first day at her new job as one of world-renowned designer Josh Braden’s assistants wearing discounted clothing. The thought turned her stomach—but not as much as showing up in her hometown jeans and cowgirl boots would have. She was a long way from Weston, Colorado, and she’d spent the last few weeks gathering discount designer clothes and practicing omitting “y’all” from her vocabulary.
She stood before the thick glass door of Josh Braden Designs and took a deep breath. The sign above the door read, JBD. This is it. She closed her eyes for a split second to repeat the mantra she’d been playing in her mind like a broken record for weeks: I’m educated, knowledgeable, and eager. I can do this.
A warm hand on her lower back pulled her from her thoughts.
“Have any trouble finding us?” Josh Braden stood beside her with a friendly smile and perfectly shorn, thick dark hair. His black Armani suit fit his lean, muscular frame perfectly. A few years earlier, he’d been named one of America’s Most Eligible Bachelors. Back then she hadn’t given the magazine cover a second thought. He was in New York, and she was back in Colorado, so far removed from him that she’d still thought of him as Josh Braden, the boy she’d had a crush on for too many years to count. Now, standing on the streets of New York City beside the man whose name rivaled Vera Wang, she felt the air sucked from her lungs.
His deep voice sent a shiver right through her. Not only had she had the good fortune to be reconnected with Josh when he was back home visiting his family, but during his visit, the two of them had also spent a few days getting reacquainted. Riley hadn’t been sure if it was her crush going haywire or if there was something more real blossoming between them, but those few days had each felt a little more intimate than the last. And while their lips never touched and their bodies remained apart, she’d felt like they were always one breath away from falling into each other’s arms."
