Queens of Geek review

Hey book lovers, Whats up? Hope you're having a beautiful day today, I know I am. I just read this really inspiring book called Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde. I bought this book way back in March from Amazon and was finally able to get to it. I just can't believe how awesome this book so let begin with the review.

This book involves three friends, Taylor who I believe is an Australian born native girl. She is the geekiest girl around in a good way. She is totally into this fandom Called Firestone which reminds me of Harry Potter.  She just loves to quote movies and shows like the Gilmore girls do. But Taylor is also autistic and suffer from anxiety. She doesn't  react or is able to catch on to things fast and the world doesn't really work with the way her mind works. If you're new to this blog and don't know this about me, I also suffer from anxiety and depression. I loved Taylor because I am so much like her. I am a huge geek, I love doctor who, but at the same time I don't always know how to respond to things. I feel like I can't understand what the world is putting forth. Sometimes I even feel like that I can't express these feelings or I will usually get the typical response of, why can't you just be happy, why didn't you know how to do it this way. These are things people with Mental Health experience every day. But in this book, Taylor is shown that there is nothing wrong with how her mind works, and it's okay to voice her feelings to the world. Don't worry about everyone else. These are things I can relate to on a very deep level as well. Taylor was so inspiring to me and I just love her point of view throughout the book.

Then there is Charlie who is Taylor best friend. Charlie is an Asian American who moved to Australia, I believe. When she attends school for the first time is when she meets Taylor. As the years go by both girls become great friends. The only difference is that Charlie is a mega Youtuber who is a breakout Actress. Charlie is the reason that Taylor and their other friend Jaime get to go to this big press event in the book. At this Event, Charlie meets another famous Youtuber and someone she admires by the name of Alyssa. Things get heated between Alyssa and Charlie as the book goes on and they end up maybe being together. I just really loved Charlie Character, because throughout the book I felt like I could also relate to her. I am always Charlie in front of the camera. I am very outspoken and very outgoing but behind the camera in real life I am Taylor. Honestly being Taylor and dealing with Anxiety is the reason I have a hard time posting new videos a lot of the time. So I can relate to both Charlie and Taylor and its just one of the reasons I love this book so much.

Then third is Jamie who is from America as well but moves to Australia because of his parents. He had a hard time with the move but when he spies Taylor reading Queen of Fire one day in School, he finally finds someone like him. Jamie is just this really awesome kind nerdy guy who loves Comic books and likes Taylor. But when he tries to make a move on Taylor the first time it didn't go so well. But when they are at this press event, Jamie seems to handle things much better. Maybe so much better, that Taylor and he might finally have a shot, who knows you have to read the book.

So to sum this book up it's about three best friends finding different real scary reasons not to take a chance but do anyway. They end up having the time of their lives at a comic con of sorts. They all end up finding new meanings to new relationships. But the best part of all is that they learn no matter what your real friends always have your back in the end. They also learn that real love means you love someone no matter their messes.

As for this book, I rated it five out of five stars because it was so well written. The messages about friendship and real love were so clear and defined. The only thing is that even though all three friends are in the book, its only totally from the views of Charlie and Taylor which is cool but I wish we had a view from Jamie too. But I did love how Jen wrote about Taylor Anxiety, it was related able and real. It felt and explain how anxiety looks from a personal standpoint that deals with anxiety. I just love the writing throughout the whole book, so much that I could not put it down. I had to force myself to put this book down to either rest my eyes or do something else. I cried through some of this book while reading it. I can't tell you enough that you really need to read this book. You especially need to read this book, if you suffer from anxiety or knows someone who does because this will give you look into their world. I also have to add that I was totally geeking out over all of the different nerdy references.  References towards the made-up fandoms that were like the real fandoms, for example, Harry Potter but it was renamed Firestone for the book and change a little too. I just really loved this book, and the romance didn't hurt either. The romance was super sweet and very realistic between the two couples in the book. I suggest you all go buy this book right now and read it. I am going to go and link all of the information for the book below before I talk your ear off. Please be sure to follow and share this blog and all of my social media.

Hunting Prince Dracula review

Hello, my fellow book lovers and guess what I have for you today. It's a review of Hunting Prince Dracula, the sequel to Stalking Jack the Ripper from Kerri Maniscalco. It is set for release September 19th, 2017 and it's my favorite book of the series, so far. I would like to thank Hachette Book Group, Little Brown and Jimmypattersonbooks for sending me this Arc to read and review. I am so incredibly thankful that I finally pick up this series and read it. Now let's get to the actual summary and review of the book because I am so excited for this book.

So the book begins where Stalking Jack the Ripper left off and that is with AudreyRose and Thomas traveling to Romania for the forensic school. On the way to study dead bodies, guess what happens? A murder of one of the occupants on the train. This murder ends up leading AudreyRose and Thomas on an investigation, that somehow leads to the school, aka Prince Dracula castle, the real Dracula not the vampire. (<——Look it up, it is real history). It seems that there are two families lines in attendance to the school who happens to be related to Dracula or better known as Vlad the Impaler. This leads some people to believe that the new murders are possibly related to the two family members of royal blood. Then there are some who believe AudreyRose is the cause of the murders, once they find out she has a connection to Jack the Ripper. Either way, these new murders lead AudreyRose and Thomas onto a murder hunt once again. But in order to know who is the real murderer, you will need to pick up this book in September because trust me you won’t regret it. So people let's get to my final thoughts about this amazing story.

Okay so first, OH MY GOD I am so utterly in love with Thomas Cresswell, even though he makes mistakes like all men when it comes to love. I love how modern he is when it comes to AudreyRose and her feelings about things yet somewhat old fashion because he likes her so much. I love how Thomas is witty and banters with AudreyRose though out the entire series. I hope that soon they will be engaged or even married, like maybe in the next book(but that's just a hope). After reading this book, I could see AudreyRose simply eloping with Thomas in secret just to be daring. (heads up that doesn’t happen in this book even though I wish it had.) But personally, in my opinion, Thomas personality just really reminds me so much of David Tennant as the tenth doctor or Colin O Donoghue as Hook from Once Upon a time. He is just so lovable, witty and protective. I now seriously can’t wait to read more about Thomas in the third book which probably will come out next year, hopefully.

Now as for AudreyRose Wadsworth, who is the daughter of a Lord. She lost her mother very young which causes the Ripper to appear out of nowhere. But AudreyRose just happens to also have this morbid curiosity for Forensic which is not very lady like for a Victorian lady. But as AudreyRose is reminded, if Queen Victoria who is female can run the Country then Audrey Rose can become a Forensic Scientist. In the first book, she is given a Chance to study Forensics by mentoring underneath her Uncle who works for Scotland Yard. But in this book She receives the Chance to go to Romania to study Forensics with Thomas at Prince Dracula Castle. I just love how tough AudreyRose becomes as she becomes more of an Investigator. I also loved how she comes to realize her feelings for Thomas, but doesn’t let him be in charge of her, in their relationship. I love how cute she is when jealous of Thomas's love life or lack of. She is like so many women in history, when a man tells her she can't-do it, she always finds a way. I so am dying right now knowing that there is a third book and it won’t come to next year. I am praying I get to read the Arc like I had the chance with this one because this book hasn't even been released and I already want the third book's Arc.

Okay now to the book, I rated it a five out of five stars. It is an utterly absolutely morbid delight to read.It also is a historical fiction story. Kerri actually used real-life historical stories such as Jack The Rippers murders to tell the story. But all of her characters are usually made up except in the case of the first book, those were really Jack's Murder Victims.  I usually cringe at reading about murders but not in the case of these books. Kerri has a way of writing the murder mystery as a Puzzle to be solved, so that's why I think I love them so much.  I also love that She writes Thomas with such wit, which usually has me laughing at him. I love how she makes AudreyRose really think about solving the murders yet at the same time allows AudreyRose to be as misguided in love as the rest of the world. For example, AudreyRose can notice little details like what is causing a victim to smell foul but she can't seem to always tell how Thomas is feeling about her. Honestly, there is never a dull moment in these books, either you're kept on your toes by the murder clues or by Thomas's bantering with AudreyRose. I just cannot tell you enough about how much I adore these books. I want to read them all, and I am dying with excitement over the Third Book, that I know is coming.. YASSSSSS( crazy fangirl scream inserted here).Kerri just writes this funny fantastic amazing world of mystery that makes you crave more every time you read this book. If you love the Aurora Teagarden Series by Charlene Harris, Agatha Christie, or Sherlock Holmes, You seriously need to GO buy this book in September and buy the first book Stalking Jack the Ripper right now. This series is going to be a favorite of mine, for years to come, I can just tell. As always I hope you love this blog, and all of the Author's, books and my Social media links will be below along with my review for Stalking Jack theRipper the first book.

Wendy Darling: Shadow

Hello fellow book lovers, for this blog today I have a review on the third book of the Wendy series by Colleen Oakes. I request the Arc off of NetGalley, not knowing that Wendy series is actually three books total. This review is on the third Book Wendy Darling: Shadow. I will be buying the other two books and reading them so when this book is release on July 18th 2017, I can read the whole series. I love Colleen Oakes books because they are base on famous fairy tale characters like this series is about Wendy from Peter Pan and then she also has a series about the Queen of hearts from Alice in wonderland. So lets start the review with the summary of the book like always.

This book opens up with Wendy and Peter pan floating around in the skies, but as the story continues you come to understand that Wendy hates Peter. You also learn that Wendy is working with Captain Hook to defeat Pan. Pan is convince that he and Wendy will be parents to the lost boys but he really uses the Lost boys as Slaves. Peter is very cunning and charming that it he can easily convince people to do what he wants. Many believe that a War will happen between Peter and Hook to save or end Neverland. Then there's Tinkerbell who supports Peter and his craziness. she believes herself to be in love with Peter. Wendy end up back with Pan because of her brother John darling who betrays her after all she has done to save him. Peter is clearly a crazy magic man who believes everyone should love him, and if he doesn’t have their love, then he goes off into madness. Meanwhile Peter holds control over Wendy family and love of her life. So who will win this final battle of Magical power. Well I can’t clearly tell you everything other wise that would be Spoilers sweetie. So I suggest to know the final battle you go buy Colleen’s Wendy Darling Series as soon as possible.

I love Colleen writing of Neverland and Wendy darling, it reminds me of Once upon a time. Peter Pan reminds me very much of Once Upon a time Peter Pan, which is an evil guy set out to control Neverland. Except Once Upon a time Peter Pan was a father and wanted to be young forever, thats not the case with Colleen's Pan. Colleen Pan is just a psycho who wants to control everyone and change them to be like how he wants them to be. I do believe that Oncer Fans would love this series though. I really love this book although it is the third and its the only one I read so far because of how much its like Once Upon a time, yet different. I love how in Colleen story she makes “Wendy the hero.”I love how Colleen takes a classic like Peter Pan and just gives it all of this awesome evil magic that needs to be fix Wendy. I just really love different versions of classic fairy tales, like this more modern version Colleen has created with the Wendy Darling series. Usually you will hear different modern stories about Peter or Tinkerbell, but Wendy and Hook are not often the focus of their own stories, so I love when the author takes one of the supporting characters and makes them the main lead. I will for sure be reading the rest of this series, to enjoy this third book even more now.  This series will be one of my favorites for years to come, I can already tell.

Now as for the rating of this book, I rated it a four out of five stars. I do believe it will become a five star book when I read the whole series which I plan to buy myself. As I said I love how Colleen has given us a modern take on a classic fairy tale while using one of the supporting characters to create this new tale. She took a supporting character like Wendy Darling who is rarely focus on and created a new story where she is this badass female heroine. I love this beautiful story idea. I now can’t wait to read more of Colleen books and I am so glad I had the chance to read this Ebook Arc. As for the cover of this book, it is beautiful. I love how its all blue like the water would be, it really does make you think of magic. I honestly can’t wait for this book release date, so I can have the whole series to read. This Ebook also makes me now want to read Colleen other series, Queen of Hearts so bad. I hope you all enjoyed this book review, please come back for more reviews soon. I usually try to have a new book blog review up every week. As always all links for the book, author and my social medias are listed below.

Some Kind of Hero review

So I received Some kind of Hero Arc By Suzanne Brockman off of NetGalley for review. It is a romance novel about the military, which is a typical book from Suzanne Brockman. This book is actually from Suzanne Brockman Troubleshooters series involving Seal team Sixteen. I will admit the reason I requested this book was because I am a huge Suzanne Brockman fan. She has written some of my absolute favorite novels. This book is set to release in July of 2017 so you will not have to wait long for the book to come out. Now let's get to my thoughts on this book.

This book is about Shayla Whitman who has two boys who are teenagers. She meets her neighbor Peter Greene who happens to be a Lieutenant for Seal team sixteen. How she ends up meeting Peter, is when he is looking for a way to track his sixteen-year-old daughter Maddie who has gone missing. So as they are trying to track Maddie, Peter ends up sharing his life story with Shayla and vice verse.  As the story continues Maddie ends up in more trouble. Shayla gets closer to Peter while helping to look for Maddie. I also want to add that Shayla is a romance writer very much like Suzanne Brockman, so this helps Shayla to think outside of the box when it comes to the whole Maddie story. As the story goes on Shayla and Peter start to really like each other. But do they save Maddie as their feelings grow for each other? To find out what happens at the end you will need to pick up this book in July especially if you are a fan of Romance novels or Suzanne Brockman.

This book is typical Suzanne Brockman Navy Seal romance book. I honestly think Suzanne knows more about the Navy then even the Navy, I am joking of course. I have love Suzanne books since I was twenty and this book is no exception. Peter is typical I am a bad ass navy seal and no one can break me. He is very much, I don’t need to fall in love but then comes Shayla. Shayla is a romance author of suspense, so she loves romance along with the typical mystery solving game. She is the bright smart girl that is in even Suzanne novel. She doesn’t believe someone like Peter could fall for her geeky mind but he does. Of course, it all starts with saving Maddie who is typical, "I hate the world teenager" and yet very naive at the same time and ends up trusting the wrong people. You will totally fall in love with these characters because Suzanne Brockman just writes those characters that you can’t help but love. There is a special feeling you get when you read her characters like you have known them all of your life. I absolutely cannot recommend this book enough for those who love romance or finding romance in the stereotypical hopeless romantic way. Plus I love all of the action Suzanne always puts in her books. You can bet your life, that this book will contain tons of thrilling jaw-dropping action.  This book is a must have for Suzanne Brockman Fans because you also get revisit some of your old favorites from the TroubleShooters series. For sure I say pick this book up in July.

As for the book itself, I rate it a Four out of five stars. Yes, this rating is a little bias because I love Suzanne writing. She makes you feel like you're visiting a family that you haven’t seen in a while when you read her series. She also writes awesome nail-biting action into her novels. You really feel the suspense when you read her books, along with the typical will they, won't they torture of a great romance novel. The cover on this book is a very typical American romance cover which is a guy posing in uniform, it's really no big deal. That is typical for American romance novel covers, and let's face it we don’t buy romance novels for the covers do we (wink, wink). I can’t say it enough, I love all of Suzanne Navy  Characters, I really do, and I will always buy her books, this one will be no exception. All of the links will be listed below as usually for Suzanne, her book and my Social Media

Violet Grenade Review

Hey!!! fellow book lovers, welcome back to my latest blog about the Book Violet Grenade. I first would like to say thank you to entangled teen for sending me this book in order to review it. I always appreciate the chance to read new books especially by authors I have never read before. The author of this book is Mrs Victoria Scott and this book is label as a Psychological thriller, which is very much true. This book reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock movies. Now on to the best part of the blog, the reviewing part.

So here is the summary of the story. The story involves four main characters but I would say there is more then four. The main four listed in the original book summary are as follows, Cain, Madam Karina, Wilson and of Course Domino the main lead female. But I would also like to add Poppet who is a girl that enters the story half way through the book. But lets go back to the beginning of the story. See Domino ends up in trouble at the beginning of the book which is when we also meet Wilson. Hell breaks loose and then enters Madam Karina who claims to offer young girls honest work and a safe home. Domino decides to take Madam Karina up on her offer. She ends up in Texas working for Madam Karina at a entertainers house of sorts. But after she arrives she meets Cain and Poppet. Poppet immediately befriends Domino and tries to help her out. Cain slowly warms up to Domino and begins to reveal who he truly is and why he is there. But the other girls not so much, they give Domino a lot of trouble which causes Wilson to return and so begins the story. Now onto my thoughts of the book.

Lets start with Madam Karina, I knew she was trouble the moment she started talking. I knew she would bring more pain to the story. Wilson is just a creepy character all around, along with Cain as you learn more of their life and past . As for Poppet well I just felt sorry for her and what she had to face. All of these people end up at Madam Karina’s for different reasons, and its almost like the Bates hotel, once you check in, you can’t just check out. These characters are really dark and twisted which creeps up on you slowly as you read the book. I would say more but then that would be spoilers of the book.

As for the book, I rated it 3 stars out of 5. The reason for Three stars is because Victoria writing is really amazing. The way she uses words to tell the story is so beautiful and so deep. She can really paint the image for you. But this book is really dark and gritty as it is describe and it was not my cup tea. I don’t actually remember what attracted me to this book but that is just my opinion. I also would like to add that I will read other Victoria Scott books. This one book is not going to change my thoughts on how wonderful this Author writing is. But back to the book, if you love the show Bates motel or Dexter, you will love this book. This book is for people who like the Dresden files books. It really does twist your mind and help you to imagine the most dark and twisted world possible. Sometimes you can totally see how Victoria uses the real world to influence Domino's world in the book. So if you don’t mind dark twist gritty mystery novels, then this is totally the book for you. If you want to read this book it will be available on May 16th, 2017.  Once again I would like to thank Entangled teens for giving me the chance to review this book. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate getting a chance to review any book.  Also all the links for the book, the author and my social media are listed below like always. Thanks everyone for reading my latest blog.

Stalking Jack the Ripper Review

Hello, You wonderful book lovers and welcome back to my beautiful awesome book blog. I hope you have been enjoying this blog so far. So now let's get to my latest book that I have read this week, It’s Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. This book was bought by me from Amazon, back in February when I originally found out about it through Booktube. Then a couple of weeks ago I received in the mail, much to my surprise the Arc of Hunting Prince Dracula which is the Second book in this mystery series by Kerri. So, of course, I take reviews very seriously and immediately started Read Stalking Jack the Ripper so I can read Hunting Prince Dracula soon and boy am I glad I did. Now let's get to the review for Stalking Jack, because that's all you guys really want to know right.

Stalking Jack the Ripper the book is a fiction tale, semi using the details from the case of the real Jack the Ripper. The two main characters in this book is one Audrey Rose Wadsworth,(btw Kerri, if your reading this, I love her Name.) and the other is Mr Thomas Cresswell. Audrey is a female, who lives in a time of restriction towards females, and as we all know educated females never let restrictions stop them. AudreyRose is very much a Feminist in the grande Victorian Age of London. So it should come as to no surprise that she decides to do something, most would consider below her status in society. That something turns out to be a medical examiner or Forensic scientist of sorts. She decides to study the science of dead bodies like her Uncle because she lost her Mum very young. So during her studies, she learns that her Uncle and his intern Mr Thomas Cresswell, is helping Scotland Yard investigate the murders performed by Jack the Ripper. After Audrey is invited to help, all hell pretty much breaks lose. All of the clues point to a family member being the murder. She is also slowly starting to like Thomas's banter, clever wit and the way he makes her think for herself, which doesn’t help matters either. Why? because lets be real who wants to fall in love or semi-love while investigating possible family members for being a famous murder. As time goes on, Audrey Rose is closer to the murder then she thinks as well as being closer to Mr Cresswell. But of course for you to find out who the murder is, you need to buy the book. No seriously you need this book in your life, you will not regret it. Now Lets get to more book details below.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it is written so well. The best way to describe the story is that it is a puzzle, such as Agatha Christie murder novels or even Charlene Harris "Aurora Teagarden Series". Where the story is not really about how the victim was murder but more about who, when, where and finally why. This book wants you to look at the murders as being a puzzle for a crime-solving like Aurora does in the Aurora Teagarden series.I hope all of that makes sense but before I continue I also would like to point out that this book discusses in some detail Forensic science.  It is the process of a Doctor or Scientist receiving a dead body to study its organs. But back in Victorian days, it was also a way to study what cause a person death and to provide organs to medical science. While this is discuss in the book, it is not extremely detailed to point of making someone feel sick. I am a sensitive person to these types of things and this detailed did not bother me. Now on to more details about the story itself.

This story is not your standard Murder mystery in the sense that it's all about the murder. This book is also about Audrey Rose becoming her own person and standing for what it means to be herself.  I also honestly couldn’t believe how funny this book was, mainly from Thomas’s view point. Thomas tends to be the one who keeps Audrey Rose on her toes and really helps to get her to think about everything, even him as a possible suitor. He loves the fact that she is so well educated compared to most girls of her position. He tends to use humorous flirty banter to keep her on her toes. I can’t say enough about how much I love Thomas in this book, he is so funny and modern compare to the Victorian age. I also loved the cover on this book. This cover which is shown above of a woman holding a knife while wearing Steampunk victorian clothing is bloody beautiful, intriguing and inviting.I honestly can’t wait to start the next book in the series which is Hunting Prince Dracula, and it comes out in September 2017 for hardcover sell. As always all links are below for the book and Author. Plus you will find all of my social media links. Thank you for your time and a special thank you to Little Brown and Jimmy Patterson books for the Arc of Hunting Prince Dracula.
