Kat Von D and Kingdom book series

So this week through Phyrra blog, who is a beauty guru and blogger, along with Sephora.com, I found the newest treasure of my makeup collection, which is the Kat Von D "Monarch and Chrysalis" palettes..okay wait a minute... girlies scream ever... had so much excitement from seeing these palettes, I am wearing a big ole "Chesire" cat grin, like in Alice and Wonderland. I was lucky enough to have the money and the bonus sephora VIB 15% off, so I bought both palettes. It was like the heavens above shine down upon and the angels where singing... MUST HAVE, MUST HAVE, MUST HAVE, with these two palettes. I cannot begin to describe how much I love Kat Von D makeup. It is my third holy grail makeup.

     Monarch and Chrysalis palettes

So In honor of my love and my excitement... (I so wish you could hear the happiness in my voice right now) I decide to do a blog on all of the Kat Von D items I own right now. The first items will be my foundation and setting powder, in "LIGHT 45", both of these items are 34.00 dollars at Sephora. I have very fair skin, and both of the items work well on my skin. I also have oily to combo skin and I dont have an issue with this foundations disappearing or wearing away. They last all day, and the liquid foundation blends smoothie and makes your skin look flawless. For me the liquid is also a full finish foundation, it covers, my redness, and my pimps. I love this foundation and Setting powder. The powder, goes on smoothie, last all days and helps to set the foundation to a matte finish in my opinion. I recommend this foundation to fair skinned people.

Next item is the Kat Von D "Esperanza" palette, which retail for 36.00 at Sephora. I love all of the colors in this palette, it has shimmery, matte and glitter shades in it.

These shades blend so well together, they are also so perfect for spring and summer. They are bright and smooth. This is truly on of my all time favorite grail palettes. The one thing i do have an issue with is that all Kat Von D palettes have fall out.

I do know I will be wearing this palette all summer and it is a limited palette at Sephora, so hurry and buy now, you will not regret it. The shades in the "esperanza" palette are  "Selena" which is purple, "Dayglo" which is the transformer shades as well as a light green color, "Galore"is a peach shimmer color, "placebo" is a orange-y red color, (which Kat Von D does so well), "Santeria" is a shimmery blue- green color, next is "archangel" color which is a light shimmery green color, "South" which is a peachy-nude matte color, and "Dog Roses" which is a golden coppery color and the final color.

This whole palette is Vampire Inspired in my opinion.

This Palette reminds me of the colors a vampire might wear.

The next Palette is the lady bird palette, include above is my hand with swatches. This whole palette is a matte palette. I love it because it is Kat Von D and because the case is a metal carving case with a lady who has wings for hair. That is my favorite thing about this case is the fact that its metal and has a carving or etching in the case, plus it snaps close with spring hinges. I so wish Kat Von D had kept these kinds of palette designs. I am not a huge fan of the new card board ones because they get dirty to easily and are not reusable in my opinion like her metal cases. So back to the colors, these colors are matte but because of that reason, i believe they come off to dark on the skin. My two favorite colors in this palette are both end colors, which is the purple, title "Fur Elise" and "Cleopatra" which is the burnt orange brown color. I love Kat Von D most for her purples and orange coppery brown colors. The coppery ones, she just does so right for my pale skin and blue eyes.  The colors in these palettes starting from left and going towards right are: "Fur Elise", "Vespertine", "renholder", "Siouxsie- Sioux", "Unrequited", "harlow", "wolf" and "Cleopatra". This palette is title "Lady Bird" and I believe it would work better with Meduim to dark skin people with darker color eyes. I dont regret buying it but I dont get much use from it unless I mix it with my "poetica" palette which I will discuss next. This palette retailed for 36.00 dollars as well at sephora and came with the "Amor" eyeliner pencil also by Kat Von D.

The Poetica Palette was 36.00 dollars at Sephora. I bought it in a combo though with Kat Von D lipstick "FTW", along with eyeliner pencil, "Immortal Love" and Masacara, "Sin-Full Lash". I absolutely love all of these items when mix together with this palette. It was a 59.00 dollar total package set and well worth the price because all of these things added up to a 100.00 dollars when bought separate. The eye shadow colors from left to right are title, "Forgiveness" starting with the shimmery white, next is "Sandtimer", "Chandler", "tijuana", "wonderland","shiba", "babe" and finally ending with "you alone" as the matte off white color on the right. The way this palette is design reminds me so much of Alice in Wonderland style makeup, in fact if Alice had worn Makeup, it would have been this palette.  It goes without saying this is my favorite Kat Von D palette for the fall and winter season. I love that Copper color title " Sand Timer" and wear it alot with the purples. One of the best palettes I own and super pigmented. This whole Palette is highly pigmented, blend-able and very mix able. It is so easy to come up with a look from this palette.

The Masacara is title "Sin Full Lash" and cost 20.00 to 24.00 dollars, it was one of my favorites and is no longer available at Sephora instead they have a new one title "Immortal Lash 24" and is only available for VIP. Now these two pencils are my favorite liners ever, the Brown one is title "Immortal Love" and then the other is the black one title "Amor", they are both blend able, soft, and creamy. They go on smooth and cost 10.00 dollars right now on Sephora.com. Now on to the foiled lipstick from Sephora by Kat Von D titled "FTW", not kidding... thats the name.. It is a beautiful, creamy, smooth lipstick that looks like a croppery, cranberry, shimmery red color. It has a metallic finish in the light when you wear it and it highlights the face so well. The lipstick is Foiled Love brand and cost 19.00 dollars at Sephora. I love all of these items and would repurchase them again.

I will always recommend KAT VON D items when it comes to the makeup. They blend well, they are creamy, and last all day. They do have some fall out when using them but they are highly pigmented in everything not just the eye shadows. I love the design of her product cases too, the designs are just so beautiful and are very display-able for the makeup vanity.  I would definitely purchase all of these items again and I suggest if you havent but love makeup like i do, go give KAT VON D a try today.

"KINGDOM Series, Book 1
Alice is all grown up. Running the Mad Hatter's Cupcakery and Tea Shoppe is a delicious job, until fate--and a fairy godmother with a weakness for bad boys--throws her a curveball. Now, Alice is the newest resident of Wonderland, where the Mad Hatter fuels her fantasies and thrills her body with his dark touch.
The Mad Hatter may have a voice and a body made for sex, but he takes no lovers. Ever. But a determined fairy godmother has forced Alice into Wonderland--and his arms. Now, as desire and madness converge, the Hatter must decide if he will fight the fairy godmother's mating--or fight for Alice"- Excerpt from Marie Hall Author page on Facebook."

So the next thing I want to mention since it has become a favorite this week are this series by Marie Hall ,  Kingdom series on Amazon E Books. These books are the romance, "ONCE UPON TIME" tv show type of books.  The first of this series is title: "Her Mad Hatter" and its about Alice and Hatter following in love. It is a very dark, but hope filled story of dirty sexy romance between Hatter and Alice. It has a Tim Burton feel of it, like what will happen next between these two and How will they end up together since Hatter cant leave wonderland to chase Alice and bring her Home.  As I said they remind me of Tim Burton but so much more twisted in my opinion, this Alice and Hatter would definitely be Sally and Jack but more of an adult version. So worth the price to buy it too. These E Books range 2.00 to 5.00 dollars and are so delicious of a read, that you will be sad when they are over and you will want more. I have read this book and also the story of Rumpel's Prize which is Rumpelskin story and this Rumpel is darker then "Once Upon a Time" Tv Show Rumpel. He is describe as a beastly man and so naughty when it comes to the sexy part of the story. I love this Rumpel and Now I will be buying all of the rest of the kingdom stories. You can find Marie Hall at her blog which is linkable above or at her facebook which is Marie Hall Author.

So Please check out the Marie Hall Kingdom Fantasy land books, along with the beautiful Kat Von D makeup, which I am so excited to have and use. Kat Von D New Butterflies Palettes

So I was on Twitter, searching my page as usual when I spot these two beautiful palette through another blogger: Ms Phyrra Nyx who is a beauty blogger i follow. I was first attracted by the colors then i found out that they are the newest palettes by Kat Von D and I could not wait to buy them. This Week Sephora has 15% off of everything for Beauty Members. So I bought them from Sephora. I will definitely do a First impressions Video at my Youtube Chanel:  Melissahawk26. I just think these palettes are eye catching. I hope they last as long as the other Kat Von D eyeshadows I now own. These where so beautiful the first time I saw them. So now onto some information about them.
The First Palette is the: Monarch Palette

The Next Palette is the : Chrysalis Palette

Both Palettes are 46.00 dollars at Sephora.com and they just premiere. As I said I have purchase both with a 15% off, discount that Sephora is offering till April 11th, 2014 for all Beauty Subscribes. I would hurry up and run to purchase these palettes, if I was you. Kat Von D has great pigmentation, is easily blend able. They are easy to use and apply to the eye. They last all day and keep the look, of when you first applied them to the eye.  They have quality from beginning to end and I for one cannot wait until I get these palettes, Why? because every time I open a new eyeshadow palette it is like christmas morning for me. So why don't you head over to youtube, watch all of my latest videos, subscribe, comment and follow me. Peace, love and Subscribe...

URBAN DECAY ELECTRIC VS SLEEK ULTRA MATTE V1, SNAPSHOT, and ACID

URBAN DECAY ELECTRIC PALETTE
In this blog I am discussing the Urban Decay Electric vs the Sleek neon palettes. First the important things: I AM NOT PAID OR ENDORSE TO DO THESE BLOGS OR MY YOUTUBE REVIEWS. Second this is a Press Pigment Palette by URBAN DECAY, not an EYESHADOW Palette and the reason for that is because four of these Pigments are not USA FDA approve, but have been approved in the EUROPEAN market. The four pigments not approved for IMMEDIATE EYE AREA are SlowBurn, Savage, Jilt, and Urban but are usable everywhere else on the face. If you have sensitive eyes to eyeshadows or makeup, then this is NOT the palette for you, because it can irritate the eyes simply do to the colorant in the pigment. This palette retails for 49.00 through URBAN DECAY and SEPHORA, Links will be listed below, at the end of the blog. So the first thing I would like to cover is, the cover protection for your eyes.
example of my eye base but on my hand
The first thing I did is apply a concealer, to my hand or eye, then the eye primer, then a white eyeshadow pencil, either NYx Milk  or Jordanna white eyeshadow pencil. The reason for this, is because these press pigments are hugely pigmented and can stain your eye lids. So the more cover you do, as an eye base, the better you will be. These colors do blend really well and if your a makeup lover or a color lover these colors will work for you really well.  These pigments will also add to your urban decay collection, especially if you just want one pop of color among your other URBAN DECAY palettes such as the NAKED Basics, NAKED, NAKED 2 or NAKED 3.  I would like to add for those of you who are new to the URBAN DECAY brand; Urban was once known for their COLORs. So to have this press pigment palette is nothing new to this company. I was really excited when this palette came out because i notice the trend in makeup was starting to be bright colors especially for this up coming spring and summer. Now you might say, there is no such thing as trends for makeup but in actuality, there are trends everywhere.  Another reason I was excited by this palette is because I am an art student and I love color. I will admit, I am new to makeup and do have a hard time with mixing colors and working them with my eye color but I have turn to youtube, where i do video blogs along with watching other youtube bloggers, do makeup tutorials. I will also be posting, some of my favorite youtubers at the bottom of this blog along with other links. So now on to swatches of the Urban Decay Palette.
ELECTRIC PALETTE SWATCHES

ELECTRIC PALETTE SWATCHES.
As you can tell from the pictures above, that this palette is highly pigment, and so worth the price. Also the Urban Decay Electric Palette will be permanently apart of Urban Decay Collection. I do believe and agree with other bloggers, that this palette needs to be reworked because it is to blue tone, and SlowBurn does not fit in well with the other colors.
URBAN DECAY ELECTRIC Palette

Now on to the SLEEK palette Ultra matte V1, Snapshot, and Acid.

The Front of the SLEEK Palettes

I am not paid or endorse to do these reviews from either SLEEK or URBAN DECAY.  As for these Sleek palettes, in the USA, you can only find Sleek on Amazon because the company Sleek does not shipped these three palettes to the USA, due to the ingredients in them.  The Ingredients in these Three Sleek Palettes are not USA FDA approved, they are only approved in the UK which is where Sleek is base and sold. I personally have used these three palettes and not have had a problem, but once again, please use these palettes and buy them at your own DIGRESSION. The reason I decide to compare these three Sleek Palettes to the Urban Decay electric, is because these palettes are at most 12.00 dollars total. All together I paid 32.00 for all three SLEEK palettes. All of the Sleek Palettes are Neon base to an extent.

 ULTRA MATTS V1

ACID

The Back of the SLEEK Palettes.
These cases are nice, they are describe to be made like the NARS compacts, but I do find that these cases get dirty really fast from the makeup.  While these palettes are cheaper, I do get more product falling out of Sleek then Urban Decay Electric, the only exception to this rule is the shadow or pigment title "REVOLT" from the Electric Palette. Revolt has also appear in the Anarchy Case from Urban Decay Christmas palette. I find that Revolt was even more loose in the Anarchy palette then the electric palette.  Now back to Sleek; with Sleek,  you also need to use a eye base such as the one use for the Electric palette with concealer, eye primer and a white eyeshadow pencil. The reason for this is because the Sleek ACID palette well, Stain your eyes, more so then the other two Sleek Palettes. Lets look at swatches for each of these palettes
This is the ACID palette with swatches

ACID Palette

All of these SLEEK palettes are brighter in person and some are darker in person, so don't be foul by these pictures. These shadows are beautiful and very usable for NEON looks or just bright looks in general. They can be wore with other palettes. They are extremely pigment and very blend-able when using together or with other shadows. They are very much like the Electric Palette except the colors work well with one another and are not all blue tone like the Electric. I feel like with the SLEEK palettes, you receive a better color range then a all blue tone range like the Electric Palette. I am going to post examples from the snapshot and Ultra Matte V1 next.

This is the SNAPSHOTS Palette and Swatches

SNAPSHOTS
Snapshots is by far my favorite SLEEK palette, I love the orange-y, copper, reddish tones along with lighter colored tones. It is the most used palette by me because it works best with my blue eyes. I also like that is has matte and satin or shimmery tones in it. I do use this palette the most, it reminds me a lot of the KAT VON D palette, "Poetica". I also use this with my Kat Von D palette. The next palette from SLEEK is the Ultra Matte V1 with Swatches.

 ULTRA MATTE V1

ULTRA MATTE V1 swatches

This palette is my least favorite because it swatches do not show up well. It is a workable palette and the shadows are easy to lift from the tray but you have to build them up to gain the color you want. I find when using this palette, I lay my first color down after placing my whole base on first, with the concealer, eye primer and white eyeshadow pencil or white eyeshadow for this palette ONLY. Then I will spray a makeup setting spray, let it sit for a minute, then proceed to apply all of the other colors that I want to use next. The V1 works better when your eye lid has a little moisture to it. The colors seem to apply better with moisture, and they also build better. All three SLEEK PALETTES, last all day with color. The color does not fade off of your eyelid. I am not sure about the color from URBAN DECAY ELECTRIC PALETTE YET.  I have not had an issue with color fading from any of the other URBAN DECAY palettes, Such as all of the NAKEDS or the VICE 2 palette. Those Urban Decay Palette colors, usually last me all day, so i do not for see a issue with fading, concerning the URBAN DECAY Electric Palette colors.  As For my final opinion, if you want NEON bright Colors, and cant afford URBAN DECAY Electric, then go ahead and buy the SLEEK PALETTES from AMAZON as long as you don't have SENSITIVE eyes. If you can afford URBAN DECAY, why not just spurge and buy it. HEY IT CAN BE YOLO, you only live once. ENJOY LIFE if you HAVE the chance and Don't beat yourself up over spurge-ing a little. Life is Life, don't take anything to seriously. If you have any questions please comment, follow and subscribe to my blog, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, INSTAGRAM..
