Girl from Everywhere

Hello, Lovely Book lovers of the universe and welcome back to my book blog. This blog will focus on The girl from everywhere by Heidi Helig which is the first book in the Girl from everywhere series. I purchase this book off of Amazon on June 25th after hearing about it on Booktube aka Youtube. Now let's get to the summary of the book.

This book is about a young girl named Nix who is 16 and was born in Honolulu Hawaii in the year of 1868 to a Chinese mother who was born in 1841 and to an American father who was born in the 1980s. Nix's Father is a ship Navigator well more like a Time Navigator (kinda of a Jack Harkness for you Doctor Who fans), and he is able to travel by boat and map to different times. He eventually rescues Nix after her mom has passed away and he raises her. She raises more like a Crew member than a Daughter but they still have their moments together. As Nix gets older they travel to a fake time of sorts and picks up a Crew member by the name of Kashmir. When this book takes Place Nix and Kash are starting to feel things for one another. Finally, they all chance upon a map that they believe to be Honolulu 1868 but it's not, it is much later, and in order to retrieve an actual map of 1868 they must first help Americans, over throw the Hawaiian Kingdom to make them bankrupt in order for America to gain the islands. But at the end of the book, it quickly becomes more than the typical mission of stealing money and turns to Hawaiian ghost soldiers legends. But in order to know more, you need to go buy or borrow the book, to read this great time travel journey.

I rated this book 4 stars out of five because it was that good of a time travel novel, also it was unique, compared to most stories on the market. The father Slate has a serious of problems that lead me to believe he wasn't actually time traveling but experiencing drug hallucinations until Nix actually time travels at the end of the book. This book also gives you many different backgrounds such as Kashmir which is described by the Author to be more like Sinbad. Then we have Nix's Mother who is Chinese and lives in a house full of pregnant women or illness as the term it.  As we go on we get to what could have cause Hawaii to fall from Kingdom status or at least an idea. We also have the story of the famous Hawaiian Nightmarchers aka Ghost soldiers at the end of the book. This book is a slow burn time travel novel. You really don't see most of the action till the end but it's filled with so many historical legends that it makes the book enjoyable to read through out. Plus you have Kashmir who is just funny as heck through out the entire book. I honestly can't wait to dive into the second book now because this book was so good. I really think that if you like historical fiction, history or time travel in any way you will love this book. To me, the best way to describe this book is that it's Alice in wonderland meets Doctor who, and I recommend anyone to read it. A loud winters nap by Katy Hudson

A loud winters nap by Katy Hudson, was a book I received off of Netgalley in exchange for a free and honest review. The reason that actually prompt me to request this book was because I have four kids at home, and I am always looking for new books for the younger kids. This is the perfect book for 2-6 year old kids, and it available for purchase in September 2017. Now lets get into the summary and my final thoughts.

This book is about a Tortoise who is looking to sleep all winter. But as he tries to settle down, there is always noisy around that wakes him up. Eventually he finds what he assumes to be a safe spot to sleep but its actually a winter sled. He goes the sleep and the sled starts moving, which clause him to end up on the Ice. He eventually learns that Skating with friends in the winter is much better then sleeping and at the end he finally gets his sleep. Great book for little kids especially during Christmas winter season. Now onto my final thoughts.

I love love the illustrations in this book, they where so bright and colorful. This book really made you feel like it was the Christmas winter time. The tortoise character was so adorable, and any kid would love this book. I think toddler would especially be captive by the colorfulness of the book and the four to six year olds would love the story. Its a great book to read to the kids every Christmas time, and it also would be a great winter book. I rate the whole book a four out of five stars and I suggest if you have little ones to pick this book up for Christmas present. As always all the links for the author, books and me will be listed below.

I love a book by Joe Rhatigan

This is a toddler slash Children book which I receive from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book will be availble to buy on Nov 1, 2017, just in time for christmas. I requested this book because I have four kids in my life who loves to read like me. I thought this would be a beautiful story to read with them. So lets get to my summary and final thoughts about this beautiful book.

This is children book discussing how amazing books are. It explains how if you need answers to something, you can always find it in a book. It explains how exciting reading can be for someone to the young babies. Its gives them the feeling that reading is the best thing in the world which it is. It actually kind of reminded me of Reading Rainbow.

I really did love this book, I feel like it is great for ages 2-8 and the older kids might even like it. It is a great book to get kids motivated at a young age to read. I am an adult and I love this story. It was so sweet and it really describes how much someone can love reading. I would recommend any parent to pick this book up. Its that kind of book you will buy over and over again for people, kind of like Love you forever is. This book is going to be a kids classic and must have.  The illustrations in this book are a four out of five stars, they are vibrantly and beautiful done. They made me want to climb in the book. I rate this whole story a four out of five stars simply because it is a darling little kids book. As always links for the book, Author and me will be below.

A Shadow Bright and Burning Review

Welcome Fellow Book lovers of the world, and thank you for reading my blog today. This latest blog is about a book titled A Shadow Bright and Burning which I purchase in April from Amazon. It is book one in the Kingdom on Fire series by Jessica Cluess. This is a middle-grade novel for ages 12 and up. It is a mix of Jane Eyre meets Harry Potter. The second Book A Poison Dark and Drowning will be released on September 19th. But Come back here on September 14th where I will have a review posted for the second book. Now let's get to the Summary of the book.

This book introduces us to Henrietta Howell as well as several other characters. Henrietta is a teacher at a local all female School slash Orphanage like Jane Eyre. She is discovered to have magical powers by a Local sorcerer named Agrippa. Agrippa is in search of the Prophet to end a war, that's been going on for centuries between Sorcerers and Demons. Agrippa takes Henrietta to London, to train to be the only female sorcerer. Along the way, Henrietta cares for a friend who she believes she loves. She also finds out many secrets and keeps many secrets that may have to do with the prophecy. She may not be who she thinks she will become. But in order to find out if everything turns out great for Henrietta, you need to go buy this book. Now onto my final thoughts about the book.

I rated this book four stars out of five. I love the description of the Demons in this book, they reminded me of something from Dante's Inferno. Henrietta life description really felt like a retelling of Jane Eyre.  But the magic was epic in this book. When it came to the magical beings, you really didn't know who was a sorcerer or a magician. There was evil at every turn and you were so unsure of who you could trust. Henrietta herself was a very modern girl for the Victorian Age. She stood up against injustice, tried to always protect those who could not protect themselves and look for the good in everyone. She was a strong female character. I also felt like Jessica as an author included a lot of diversity in her characters. This book had great magical scenes of fighting like Harry Potter and the half blood prince. Best of all Henrietta didn't need any man to save her, even though she was surrounded by her fair share. Even though this book is rated for middle grade, I believe everyone will love this book, just like they did Harry Potter. To me, this book just had everything in it and it was so well written. Also even though this book was descriptive, it didn't put things in, just to make the book longer. I am so happy with how well this story fit together, and I felt like nothing needed to be cut from the book. I will honestly recommend this book to everyone to read. As always, I will link all of the author's information below along with my social media. Please like, follow and share.

Six Of Crows

Hey fellow book lovers, and welcome back to a new blog about a very well known book called Six of Crows, which was written by Leigh Bardugo. I purchase this book from Amazon on January 16th 2017, and just decided to read it in July. The reason I pick it up in July to read was that in August, Leigh Bardugo book, Wonderwoman Warbringer will be out. So I wanted to read some of Leigh's work before it came out. Now onto my Summary and final thoughts of the book.

This book is about six teenagers name Kaz, Inez, Nina, Mathias, Wylan, and Jesper. All basically live in a NewYork gangster type of town. I would say the Era is somewhere between 1880's to mid-1930's. Kaz is second of a very well known Gang. How he becomes second is by finding the right people to hire. People like Inej, who he saves from Prostitution slash Slavery, Or Jesper who is a gambling addict, or Wylan who is the gay son of a famous city official. Then there is Nina and Mathias who are tied together because their two cultures hate each other. Their people have fought against each other for a long time, but somehow Nina and Mathias fall for each other. They are hired by a local City government official to go after a scientist who is making a deadly drug and along the way, they end up meeting some unfortunate mishaps, that lead them, to eventually possibly losing everything. But in order to know what happens, you need to read the book. I do HIGHLY suggest you read the Grisha Trilogy first though so this book makes more sense. Now on to my final thoughts.

Honestly, as I slowly read this book, I didn't know how I felt about it. At first, I was like well clearly I hate this book, and it's not my type of story at all. Then I was like but wait I am loving the writing and the character definition. It's just the plot, I am not happy about. But Now I have to tell you, it been a week since I finish this book and I can't get it out of my mind. The story and the characters have stuck with me so very much. I will say this though if you're not one for gory details this book is not the book for you because, at one point, Leigh bardugo describes a man having his eyeball ripped out. This book was everything that a great story should be though, it was action pack from beginning to end. It was filled with intense characters and back stories. At times I felt like I was in Victorian England, other times I felt like I was in New York back when the Irish gangs ran the streets. I felt like I was taken to so many different countries, along with reading so many different languages. I will say Leigh bardugo does, diversity very well for Young Adult. Also while most of these characters did range in ages of 16 to 19, they didn't read that way to me. I actually didn't realize they were teens until it was mention in Print. So I officially have rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This book is a duology but I will have to read the Grisha Series first, to give me a better perspective on this Series. I hope you enjoyed this review, please come back again. As always I have all of the Links for Leigh Bardugo below along with my Social media.

Protecting their mate Volume three

My latest read is a three volume Arc that was provided courteous of the amazing author team which is Kit Rocha, but writing as Moira Rogers, for a new breed changing erotic romance release title Protecting their mate. Protecting their mate( last pack series) is available on Amazon(Link below). It will be released in three short volumes or one entire collection. Kit Rocha also has other books that Dystopian erotica romance series's title the O’Kanes and the Gideon Riders that are available for Purchase as well. Now let's get to the summary and my thoughts on this book.

The female lead is named Ashley, and the male lead is Blake.Blake has now help Ashley return to their wolf pack after the pack has spent a while trying to track her and her family. Not many female wolves are left, so the males need to track the remaining females to find mates.  Ashley is still in what is referred to as the mating heat or fever after she was found in the first book. The men of the pack all believe She needs to explore her sexual side in order to choose a mate. This scares the men especially Lucas the Pack leader because of an accident that happens last time they found another female wolf. So basically Ashley tests her relationship with all of the guys to see which could be her mate. In this third Volume, Ashley finally understands that she has already chosen her mate. Lucas as the leader feels that in order for Ashley to know her real mate he needs to send her true mate away. So now Ashley goes out to find her true mate, but is it too late? if you wish to know who Ashley mate is then you need to pick up all three volumes of this book and read them

I am a fan of Kit Rocha so for me I am rating this book a 3.5 out of five stars. Why 3.5 stars, because I enjoyed this last volume the most. This volume shows the real relationship between her and her mate. It gives the most to the story but while remaining erotica. I love the romance between them and how it builds as the erotica continues. I also love how Blake becomes more protective of Ashley through out the series. Now if you love Lora Leigh Breed series, you will love this series by Moira Rogers. This book contains action along with Erotica but also has a good character build up especially in volume three. Even though these are smutty erotica, there is a romance story there that I really loved. I don't love Erotica that's all about the sex alone and has no story build. I would totally recommend these books to my friends who love Erotica. So if you wish to buy this book, the links will be listed below as well as the author's links. Also, all of my social media links are listed below too.
